About Boomers and Bridgers
Hi and thanks for checking in. We're literally a small group consisting of only 10 people at this time, the core of which has been together for several years now. Our group is close-knit but is very open to new members. We think a home group is critical to believers looking for a more intimate setting where they can build a connection with other believers, study God's word and most importantly pray. Most of us in our group are now in our 50's or 60's but we're all excited to welcome others (of any age group and of any background) into our group. Over the years, we've enjoyed having younger folks join us from time to time and we loved the fresh perspective they brought to the group.
Our group typically meets every second Monday evening at someone's home (we alternate) although this spring we had to pivot like the rest of the world due to COVID and met by Zoom. In fall, we've cautiously moved back to meeting in homes but are being careful as we move forward. We continue to use the sermon notes as the basis of our meetings and that allows us to take a deeper dive into the Sunday sermons. In addition to study time, our meetings involve time for relationship building (a.k.a. socializing), sharing and most importantly spending time in prayer. We pray for each other and our families, our church, our world (especially this year) and other prayer items that come up. Maybe our group's favorite thing is our involvement with the Bridge on 20th ministry. We have been blessed to serve suppers to the kids and Bridge volunteers for kids club the first Monday of every month for the past number of years and will continue supporting that ministry through service (as COVID restrictions permit) and through prayer.
We look forward to where God leads our group and any newcomers who may feel comfortable joining us on that journey.
